Like any other handicapper, I look for stats, trends, etc. any type of information to hopefully give myself an edge. But I have to ask this, does anybody else ever wonder where in the world the tv networks come up with some of their stats and information? Some of the stats they put up on the screen are just plain sick. For instance Tony Dungy is now 35-0 after being up 14 points. That one isn't too far out there, but some of them are just crazy. I wonder how many people are looking these things up as the game goes on and how and where do they access this information in such a fast matter of time..as in 3 or 4 minutes max. Like for example, the home team who scores first covers 80% of the time. (Just an example, not fact). I'd like to meet the guy who thinks of some of these statistics and talk to him!

I just wanted to ask if anyone else has noticed this on televised games and wonders like myself, who in the world thinks some of these stats up and where do they find them and how can they find them so fast!

Any thoughts or opinions would be nice.

Best of luck with all of your plays! :drink:

they have staffs of people that prepare this stuff days before the game - they probably store it all somewhere in a database and when something comes up that rings a bell to one of the producers they will get someone to research it

also they probably have access to pages of preprepared detailed stat sheets

how do I know this?

ESPN employee?...

Producer?

Sports announcer??

Nope - I stayed at a Holiday Inn
